Just like his brother and mentor James-Phillip, William is also a sixth-generation member of the Van Maren family of Citrus Heights, CA. William graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management in 2015, then attended Lincoln Law School of Sacramento where he earned his Juris Doctorate through their four year night program. While attending law school, William held an internship with the Department of Real Estate with the State of California where he gained valuable experience preparing and presenting cases in front of Administrative law judges for Real Estate license applicants. After holding that internship, William went to work for his brother, James-Phillip V.M. Anderson, at his law firm. This is where William got his first taste of Family Law experience. This experience solidified that Family Law was the area of law he wanted to pursue.

Shortly after William became licensed, he received a contract position with Nevada County practicing Dependency Law where he actively assists parents reunify with their children through the Juvenile Dependency process. In addition to working with families in Dependency, William has been an associate attorney at this firm since the spring of 2021.

He prides himself on his ability to effectively communicate with clients and efficiently advocate for their needs and rights. He understands that a strong attorney-client relationship is important not only to provide legal representation but also to understand the upmost importance parts of a client’s case and life while they are experiencing a very difficult time in their life.

When William is not working, he enjoys spending quality time with his wife, either doing home improvement projects, exploring the outdoors or wine tasting with their dogs.
